Wikimedia CommonsThere are so many outdoor activities near our luxury Durham apartment community that you might not set foot inside your apartment all summer long.

This Independence Day, take advantage of living in an area where there is so much beauty and history to explore. Here are some places you might want to visit:

Eno River State Park – At the heart of this absolutely gorgeous seaside park, Ft. Macon still stands guard along our coast. There is plenty of hiking, camping, and picnicking, and you can cast a line in the water and fish to your heart’s content.

West Point on the Eno – This 400-acre park is located just a few miles from Durham on the Eno River. You can have a nice picnic, put a canoe in the river, or simply walk through the woods before heading back to town for the fireworks.

Little River Regional Park – Located not far from Rougemont, this park features miles of hiking, biking, and walking trails. There are campgrounds, picnic areas, and a playground that’s perfect for children who enjoy frolicking in the forest.
