Located at 401-B2 Foster Street around the corner from the Durham Farmers Market and serving only dinner and brunch, Piedmont is the place to go for those special dates, parties, and corporate affairs.
Chef Adams has taken his love of Piedmont cooking and ingredients and combined it with his passion for serving locally grown and sourced meats, poultry, fish, produce, and dairy products. Each dish on every menu proudly proclaims its origins among the farms dotting the surrounding countryside.
It’s doubtful that other restaurants in Downtown Durham offer the high-quality food you’ll find at Piedmont. The rustic, woodsy interior complements Chef Adams creative use of seasonal produce, such as turning a salad into a delectable confection of compressed watermelon, pickled blueberries, kimchee purée, chèvre, basil pistou, and roasted beet dressing.
A chilled sweet corn soup is highlighted with barbecued shrimp, cucumber and corn salad, and Thai basil. Entrees are equally inventive, and the desserts are to die for; do not miss the Sticky Date Cake.
